A different type of courage is required to stay
safe in potentially dangerous situations, avoiding needless risks and tragic consequences. This provocative
presentation, taught by Office of the State Fire Commissioner staff, is designed to change the culture of accepting the loss
of firefighters as a normal occurrence. This 3.5 hour program promotes the courage to do the right thing in order to protect
yourself and other firefighters and ensure that "Everyone Goes Home" at the end of the day. Fire
Academy full-time staff and adjunct instructors will focus on the need for firefighters and officers to change fundamental
attitudes and behaviors in order to prevent line of duty deaths in Pennsylvania and nationally.

This moving presentation also conveys the untold story
of LODD survivors in Pennsylvania and nationally, revealing how family members must live with the consequenses of a firefighter
dealth. The LODD survivors will tell their stories, in their own words, to explain the impact of
a fatality on the firefighter's family, friends and coworkers. Their message is intended to change attitudes and cause firefighters
to modify dangerous behaviors.
If you want to stay safe, care about the safety of your
fellow firefighters, and are willing to stand-up for safety, then you need to attend this program and learn how you can make
a difference.
